Three Oklahoma City women are among the letter writers in a new book, “Dear Kamala: Women Write to the New Vice President,” authored by Dr. Peggy Brooks Bertram, author/educator of Buffalo, New York. Appearing in the photo are from left to right, Dr. Zeldra Bryant, Deputy Director of Black Liberated Arts Center (BLAC), Inc., Anita Arnold, Executive Director of BLAC, Inc., and Dr. Gloria Anderson, President of the Board of Directors, BLAC, Inc.

Their letters were among those encouraging Vice-President Kamala Harris. According to Dr. Bertram, the “Dear Kamala” project was a letter campaign to show support and uplift the presumptive Democratic Vice-Presidential Nominee in the 2020 election. Bertram stated women from across America of all ages shared their hopes, fears, desires, and support with the new Vice-President. Since the inauguration, Vice-President Harris has appeared on the

cover of Vogue Magazine and was featured with President Joe Biden on Time Magazine’s annual Person of the Year Publication. The national virtual book launch of “Dear Kamala: Women Write to the New-Vice President” was Tuesday, February 2, 2021 to kick-off the sales of the book. Once again, women and some men from across the country were joined together to celebrate Ms. Harris and the book. Bertram closed her remarks, “We would like to demonstrate the

power of women’s written words to help her soar to new heights. It serves all of us as women to see her rise.” VP Harris will receive copies of the book. The letter writers included story tellers, sorority sisters, and 20 Buffalo, NY women.
